Discover Financial Services Brings Hungarian Student for U.S. visit

Riverwoods, Illinois, November 1, 1999…Discover Financial Services, a business unit of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co. (NYSE:MWD), in cooperation with The Benefit Concert Association for Children's Hospital, looks forward to the arrival of Patricia Szabo, a Hungarian student who recently won an essay contest and a trip to the United States.

The Benefit Concert Association for Children's Hospital holds an annual concert and dinner entitled "Playing from the Heart". This year, in addition to the concert, an essay contest was held where Hungarian students were asked to write about "How Music Heals the Heart."

The winner, Patricia Szabo, age 18, wrote a moving piece about the healing power of music. As a result of the essay, Patricia was awarded an all-expense paid trip to visit Columbus, Ohio, funded entirely by Discover Financial Services. Patricia arrives in Columbus on November 3. During her stay, Patricia will visit the state capital buildings, the Columbus Museum of Science and take in a concert performance by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, among other activities. Patricia and her chaperone will be staying with the family of Tom Borowski, regional director of Discover Financial Services' Columbus Operations Center and with the family of Micah Burton, regional support services manager for Discover Financial Services' Columbus center. Both Tom and Micah are board representatives for the Benefit Concert Association for Children's Hospital.
